about

This album is literally a collection of verses I recorded for various collaborations and projects that for one reason or another never got finished. As I went through my files I thought it's a shame that some of this stuff never really saw the light of day so I said screw it let's find a way to release it. I thought just calling it "Verses" was perfect so designed a cover mastered the tracks so they were more presentable and so here it is.

Probably about half of the beats were made by me and the other half by my boy Codak or Dose. Both also are dope emcees as well as beat makers. You'll hear them on some of my other albums.

You'll here me say "Labaddicts" in some of the tracks. That is really a kind of collective started by Codak and he and I were planning on making an album under that name. Some of the tracks were meant for that and some were for solo albums. Also there was a crew under the name G.U.N. that had it's first EP by its founders The Man Prefekt and myself. Some of these were possible ideas for that crew which was expanding in members but then somehow lost its way.

Even though some of these projects never found there full expression i'm glad I still have these verses and that I get to share them with you.

Oh also when I was developing the cover I asked friends what they thought. My by Upright who actually produced the beat for "You Don't Know" mentioned it looked like I was underwater. I thought that actually is really dope because this album is essentially a collection of Verses which could also be thought of as a collection of Flows. That idea he hit me with solidified that this was the right cover for the project.

So though it's a bit of a mishmash of projects I think it's a pretty cool thing as presented here and I hope you do to. I hope you enjoy!
